Welcome to the Fife Muslim Educational & Cultural Centre (FMECC) — the heart of the Muslim community in Glenrothes, Fife. Located at Huntsman House, 33 Cadham Centre, Glenrothes, KY7 6RU, our centre has been a beacon of faith, knowledge, and community since our official registration as a Scottish charity on 25 September 2012.
As the principal Islamic centre in Fife and the primary mosque serving Glenrothes and surrounding areas, we are committed to nurturing the spiritual, educational, and social well-being of Muslims throughout Scotland. Our centre provides a warm and welcoming environment for Muslims of all backgrounds, ages, and nationalities.
Our mission is to serve the Muslim community of Fife by providing high-quality Islamic education, facilitating the five daily prayers, and fostering strong community bonds. We envision a thriving, cohesive Muslim community in Fife that is well-grounded in Islamic values, actively contributing to the wider Scottish society, and maintaining deep connections to the Quran and Sunnah.
The Fife Mosque offers a comprehensive range of services to meet the diverse needs of our community. We provide accurate prayer times for Fife and Glenrothes, calculated specifically for our latitude in Scotland. Our weekend and evening Quran classes serve children and adults seeking to learn Tajweed and memorise the Holy Quran.
We host weekly Jumu'ah (Friday prayers), celebrate Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha with our community, offer Islamic marriage (Nikah) services, provide funeral prayers (Janazah), and support newly-reverted Muslims with guidance and fellowship. During the blessed month of Ramadan, we host Tarawih prayers and Iftar gatherings that bring the community together.
Education is at the core of our identity. As an Educational and Cultural Centre, we run structured Islamic studies programmes covering Aqeedah (belief), Fiqh (jurisprudence), Seerah (prophetic biography), Arabic language, and Tajweed. We also engage with schools, universities, and community organisations across Fife to promote interfaith understanding and represent Islam accurately in Scottish civic life.
As a registered Scottish charity (SC043435), all our services are funded through community donations and grants. Your generosity enables us to continue and expand our services for the Muslim community of Fife. We are committed to full transparency, accountability, and serving our community with the highest standards of Islamic ethics and Scottish governance.
